Nigel Shore

The English oboist Nigel Shore has been cor anglais player with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, principal oboist of both the Komische Oper Berlin and the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Chamber Orchestra. From 2008 to 2011 he was principal oboist of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra in Rio de Janeiro. Nigel appears regularly worldwide as a chamber musician and soloist, with The Berlin Oboe Quartet, his wind quintet KO5, Spectrum Concerts Berlin, Oferenda Musical São Paulo and with artists such as Hartmut Haenchen, Paco de Lucia, Rolando Villazón, Helmuth Rilling, Peter Schreier and Frank Peter Zimmermann.

Since living in Brazil, Nigel has become increasingly involved in Brazilian music, especially linking classical music to the country's rich heritage of popular music. It was this music that inspired him to found Costa Records.
